When I Must Leave You

When I must leave you for a little while
Please do not grieve and shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years.

But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name;
Live on and do all things the same;
Feed not your loneliness on empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,

Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you
And hold you near;
And never, never be afraid to die,
For I am waiting for you in the sky!

God's Bravest

Ever ready in day or night,
always willing to put up a fight.
When flames roll high, or cars collide,
be quick to save the lives inside.

See only firemen could be so brave,
to search the house for a life to save.
Or respond quickly in the cold and black of night,
to save a child from the burning light.

To pray for our brothers if they shall fall,
and lose their life while on the call.
Don't remember they are gone,
only the tremendous job they've done.

I know that if I must leave this world of mine,
I'll be proud of those brave men I left behind
