Ronald R. Phillips
Age 81, of Watkins Glen, passed away at the Bath VA Medical Center on February 13, 2010.
Ron was born in Montour Falls on February 20, 1928, the son of John R. and Hazel (Goltry) Phillips. Ron served in WWII in the 82nd Airborne and retired after teaching for 25 years with Dundee Central School. He was a member of the Retired School Teachers Assoc. of Schuyler County and the American Legion Post 0676, of Watkins Glen.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, on Thursday, Feb. 18, from 6-8pm; with a funeral service to immediate follow at 8:00pm; burial will be held Friday at 10am at Pleasant View Cemetery in Reading Center, with military honors.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassy (Scott) Dickerson, of Watkins Glen; sister Wanda Rowan, St. Cloud, FL; three grandchildren, Scott (Bonnie) Dickerson, Newfield; Raymond (Janelle) Dickerson, Bossier City, LA; Thomas Dickerson, Watkins Glen; and three great-grandchildren, Cherish, Destiny, and Aaron Dickerson. He was predeceased by his parents, also son “Chip” Ronald R. Phillips II, and grandson, Philip Dickerson.
