Church Member for 82 Years-Since 1925 HORTON, Ivan D.
Age 95, of Dundee, NY, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Schuyler Hospital. There are no prior visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Dundee United Methodist Church, Rev. Ann E. Hicks officiating. The committal and burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery following services. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lillian Horton; great-nephew, Richard (Joan) Pierce (children, Michael and Raymond) of New Jersey; sisters-in-law, Shirley Lambert (nephew, Carl) both of Dundee and Florida, and Gladys Aston of Texas; several nieces and nephews; his favorite companion, a Boston Terrier, Pudgy; and good friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Edith Horton; and sister, Alma Axtell. Ivan was the oldest member of the Dundee United Methodist Church. He worked for Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport for 25 years. Before, he worked with his wife at the Market Basket in Dundee; and drove truck for the Town of Starkey Highway Dept. for 12 years. The family wishes in lieu of flowers, that memorials in his memory be made to one of the following charities: The Dundee Fire Department, The Dundee Fire Department Ambulance Squad, or the Dundee United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Women will host a Luncheon in Ivans' memory at the church following the committal services.
