Age 93, of Valois, NY, passed away, Sunday, February 11, 2007, at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls, NY. Friends are invited to call Friday, February 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, NY. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Hector Presbyterian Church, Rev. Cynthia Harvey officiating. Burial following in Hector Presbyterian Cemetery. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Roberta Beckhorn, Valois, NY, Peter and Rosemary Beckhorn, Webster, NY; daughters, Linda and Jim Scott, Webster, NY, Marjorie and Carl Stenquist, Hector, NY; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Neva was born and grew up in Wellsboro, PA. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Damia (Maynard) Ashley. She was a college graduate of the Arnot-Ogden School of Nursing and worked as a private nurse. Later she joined her husband, the late Waldo Beckhorn, operating a vineyard and fruit farm in Valois, NY. She was member of the Hector Presbyterian Church and Board Member of the Elizabeth Beattie-Pert Memorial Library.
