Age 69 of Watkins Glen, NY passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, October 30, 2009.
The family wishes to extend an invitation to join in a celebration of Don’s life at Seneca Lodge on Tuesday, November 3, from 7–9pm.
He is survived by his daughters Wendy Brubaker of Watkins Glen, and Heidi Brubaker of Gaithersburg, MD; brothers John M. (Jack) Brubaker of Watkins Glen; and Wm. James (Gloria) Brubaker of Watkins Glen; sisters Nancy J. Hunter of Montour Falls, and Edith J. (Allen) Berry, Sr. of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren Kai and Cale, whom he loved dearly and was affectionately known as “Papa”. Don is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Don was a free spirit. He was an accomplished carpenter, avid sailor, and the Seneca Lodge Philosophizer. He especially enjoyed the outdoors, reading and crosswords. Don was one of the initial participants and great supporter of the Cardboard Boat Regatta. He was a graduate of Watkins Glen High School Class of 1958 and Bucknell University Class of 1962, where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity. Cheers!
