Age 77, formerly of Rock Stream and Aurora, NY, passed away Monday, October 8, 2007, at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, Montour Falls, NY. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church, Watkins Glen, with Rev. Paul Bonacci as celebrant. Burial and a committal service will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Aurora, NY. Julia was a communicant of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen. She was predeceased by her husband, George M. Rafferty in 2001. Julia is survived by eight children, Philip Rafferty of FL, Richard (Kyunghwa) Rafferty of AL, Linda (Albert) VanDyke of TN, Joan (Michael) O’Brien of FL, Susan (William) Thomson of MI, Janet (Phillip) Menard of Maine, Lisa (Daniel) Rahilly of Burdett, and Nancy (Dana) Bartlett of VA; a brother, Philip (Winifred) Murphy of Aurora; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
