Mary E. Wolfe
Age 89, of Odessa, NY, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Seneca View SNF, Montour Falls, NY.
Mary was born in Newark Valley, NY on Dec. 7, 1920, the daughter Jesse and Ina Kellam. She married James L. Wolfe in 1937, and moved their family to Odessa in the 1950’s. Mary worked for Chef’s Diner and later Mary’s Diner in Montour Falls; and owned and operated Mary’s Kitchen on Wheels. She was predeceased by her parents, also two brothers and her husband of 70 years, James L. Wolfe; a son Jesse Wolfe, son-in-law Shawn Northrup; and three grandchildren. She is survived by a son Jeffrey Wolfe; daughters, Marty Northrup and Mary Beth (John) Wallenbeck, all of Odessa; and daughter Darlene (David) Gillis, of Pine City; also daughter-in-law Sandy Wolfe of Odessa; 10 grandchildren, Bill (Angie) Mosher, Brian Wallenbeck, Mike (Sonja) Wallenbeck, Matthew (Martha) Gillis, David (Mellissa) Gillis, Kristi Gillis, Amanda (Shawn) Gillis, David (Mary) Wolfe, James (Pamela) Wolfe, Rebecca Wolfe; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Monday, March 1, from 6-7pm; with funeral services immediately following at 7:00pm; Rev. Steve Conners officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her church, Church of Christ, PO Box 237, Horseheads, NY 14845.
