Caroline M. Mead
Age 76, of Starkey Point, Dundee, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23, 2010.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Wednesday, from 7-9pm and Thursday from 1-3pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 3:00pm at the funeral home; Rev. J. Keith Kissel officiating; burial at Lakeview Cemetery.
Caroline worked as the Chief Clerk of Family Court in Schuyler County, retiring in 1993. Caroline loved to garden, cook, travel and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gary D. Mead; children, Michael (Jennifer) Matthews of Spafford, Diana (Carl) Davidson of Venice, FL, Jeff (Vicki) Matthews of Penn Yan, Karen (Denis) Lacey of Penn Yan, Susan (Joel) Bencomo of Dundee, Scott (June) Mead of Churchville, Doug Mead of Maryville, TN, and Barbara (Marc) Pukos of Churchville; brothers, Jerry Brooker and Fr. Richard Brooker, Maryknoll Seminary, Westchester Co., NY; sister, Sally (Ed) Rutkowski of West Falls, brother-in-law, Robert Mead of Perry, sister-in-law, Nancy Mead of Silver Springs; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
